Unmanaged to Managed device steps

Windows:

• Join computer to ADIT domain:

Settings > System > About > Domain or workgroup > Change > Click the domain radio button to domain > adit.mines.edu

• Restart the computer.
• Move computer object in AD to correct OU using "Users and Computers" (OUs are department based and should be the primary location the users works for).
  • Active Directory Users & Computers > Right click on adit.mines.edu > select find > under the drop down Find: Computers > search for device name > right click device > select move > pick new OU under CSM Computers > click OK
• Click on Start > type CMD hit enter > type gpupdate /force (Important this needs to be run as an admin).
• Restart computer again, to ensure the Group Policy Object in committed.
• Ensure Software Center installs.  (This is dependent on Group Policy, and may take several hours)
• Software Center will install applications based on OU/MECM policy; verify that Arctic Wolf gets installed and that Windows Defender is already installed.

Mac:

• Enroll computer in Jamf. 
• Join computer to ADIT domain:

System Settings > Users & Groups > Network account server > adit.mines.edu

• Move computer object in AD to correct OU.
  • Active Directory Users & Computers > Right click on adit.mines.edu > select find > under the drop down Find: Computers > search for device name > right click device > select move > pick new OU under CSM Computers > click OK
• Ensure that Self-Service is installed.
• Self-Service will install applications based on JAMF policy; verify that Arctic Wolf and Microsoft Defender is installed.
