Mines Cloud VDI - OneDrive Setup

 

  1. Access "Cloud VDI" through my.mines.edu 

  1. Log into a desktop. 

  1. Once your desktop has launched click on the Windows Start Menu then locate “OneDrive” and click on the item.

  1. That will launch the sign-in process. If a window does not appear, browse your Windows tray and click on the OneDrive icon.

  1. Enter your Colorado School of Mines email address when prompted.

  1. OneDrive will open the familiar Mines Okta login. Enter your email address again.

  1. When prompted, enter your Mines password. 

  1. Okta may prompt you for Duo. If so, follow the prompts provided. 

  1. You may be prompted with the following dialog. Click “Not Now”.

  1. Follow the OneDrive prompts to finish the setup.

  1. You may be prompted to choose an existing or add a new folder. It is recommended that you select “Use this folder”.

  1. You can choose to backup local files to OneDrive. If you choose “I’ll do it later” know that data that is saved to the VDI desktop will persist until you delete them.

  1. As a final step, you can click through the OneDrive tutorial.

 

After you have logged into OneDrive, it will automatically you in during any subsequent VDI sessions and you can access your files via File Explorer > OneDrive – Colorado School of Mines..

Note:

  • Not all OneDrive files will download to your Cloud VDI upon login. “OneDrive On-Demand” is enabled by default, which means if you open a OneDrive file, it will automatically sync to the desktop at that time. 
  • OneDrive will only sync if you have at least 2GB of free space on your Cloud VDI profile. If files are not syncing, please reach out to Mines IT for assistance.
