Microsoft Project Online Professional - Subscription License is not installed by ITS.
It is installed by the end users themselves.
However the license has to be provisioned by the System Administration team first.
The general procedure is that the end user purchases licenses from CDWG and receives order confirmation.
The end user then generates the install service request and should provide a list of the user accounts that will each be assigned a license.
Licenses are assigned to users, not computers.
The technician who gets the service request opens a task with the Systems Administration group and provides the list of users.
The Systems Administration group provisions the licenses for the end users.
Once provisioned, the technician can assist the end users if necessary with the installation process.
End user install process:
1. Have user log in to https://portal.office.com using their Mines email address.
and complete the ADFS/DUO process.
2. Once logged on, look for the Install Apps option near the upper right-hand corner of the portal page.
3. Click on Install Apps to expose the options and select Other Install Options.
4. You are redirected to the My Account page.
5. Under the Office Apps & Devices block, select View Apps & Devices.
6. On the Apps & devices page you see a list of all of the licensed software available to the end user's account.
In the example image below, only MS Office is licensed. Once the end user's MS Project Online Professional license
has been provisioned by the System Administration team, it will appear on this page with a corresponding Install button.
7. The end user need simply click on the Install button to complete the install.
