Hi All,
There has been great progress on the Network Modernization project. The project has moved to the implementation phase with the focus on building the foundation in the core data centers and cabling to support the campus-wide network.
Core Data Center Migration scheduled for 5/18 with the below activities:

• Migration of the remaining physical connections and configurations from existing Data Center Core to new Data Center Core.
• Migration of building uplinks from existing Distribution Switches to New Distribution Switches. 
• Migration of gateways/core routers from existing Core to New Core. 

Border Router/Firewall Upgrade/Move to 100Gb: This work is targeted for 6/1. 
Cabling contract with Piper was signed on 4/1 and cabling started on 4/15. At this point, the interior cabling (that did not require room entry) has been completed for Phase 1 for the Residential Halls!
Extreme Training: All training that was included in the High Point contract is scheduled. This includes 50 days of training for 9 Mines trainees.
Installation Phases: A schedule has been created with the locations where this project will be installing cable, network switches and interior/exterior access points. Phase 1 are the Residential Halls to take advantage of summer with low capacity. Phase 2 are the Admin/Academic buildings. Design and planning is complete for the football stadium. The stadium install work is dependent on the conduit contract change order with Piper cabling.
