Overview:
The Microsoft Education LTI integrates Microsoft 365 tools directly into Canvas, allowing instructors and students to access Teams Meetings, Class Notebook, OneDrive, and Teams from within their course. This article focuses on how to use the Teams Meeting feature to schedule and manage meetings directly in Canvas.
Add the Microsoft Education LTI to Your Course Navigation
- Open your Canvas course.
- Select Settings from the left-hand course menu.

- Go to the Navigation tab.

- Drag Microsoft Education into your active navigation area.

- Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Once added, you’ll see Microsoft Education in your course navigation menu.
Sign In with Your Mines Credentials
- Click Microsoft Education in your Canvas navigation.

- When prompted, sign in using your Mines credentials

- Once signed in, you’ll see four main buttons:
- Teams Meeting
- Class Notebook
- OneDrive
- Teams
Note: This article only focuses on using the Teams Meetings functionality.
Schedule a Teams Meeting in Canvas
- Select Teams Meeting.

- Click New Meeting in the upper right corner.


- Enter a Meeting Title.
- Add attendees by typing their names or Mines email addresses.
- To invite optional attendees, click the +Optional button.
- To invite the entire class, select Add Entire Class.
- Choose the Start Date and Time and the End Date and Time for the meeting.
- Adjust the time zone if needed.
- Mountain Time should be set by default.
- To make the meeting recurring, click Make Recurring and specify the meeting cadence accordingly and click Save.

- Add details or an agenda in the meeting description field.
- Click Save when finished to send your meeting out to you desired attendees.
View and Manage Scheduled Meetings
After saving, you’ll return to the main Teams Meeting page.
From here, you can access three tabs at the top of the interface:

- Upcoming Meetings: View future meetings you’ve scheduled.
- My Meetings: See all meetings you’ve created through the LTI.
- Previous Meetings: Access past meeting details and recordings.
Notes:
- Only meetings scheduled through the Microsoft Education LTI in Canvas will appear in this space.
- Meetings created directly in Teams or Outlook will not display here.
- Meetings scheduled through the Microsoft Education LTI will appear in Teams and Outlook.
