Golden Software Surfer

Supported Operating Systems:  Microsoft Windows only.

General Description: Golden Software describes Surfer as “a contouring and 3D surface mapping program that runs under Microsoft Windows. It quickly and easily converts your data into outstanding contour, surface, wireframe, vector, image, shaded relief, and post maps. Virtually all aspects of your maps can be customized to produce exactly the presentation you want. Producing publication quality maps has never been quicker or easier.”

Availability: This product is installed in all IT-managed Windows labs.

Scope of License: Campus-wide educational site license, available for installation on Mines-owned and campus-located machines for use by faculty, staff and students performing academic work. Use in funded research requires a purchased license. IT does not have any licenses available for personal installation.

Method for Obtaining: If you need Surfer installed on a Mines-owned machine, please submit a request for installation to the Mines Help Center. If you need Surfer installed on a personal or non-Mines owned machine, please contact Golden Software directly.  Members of the Mines community may get a discount, so please identify yourself as Mines-affiliated and be prepared to show your Blaster Card, if asked.

Cost to Qualified Mines End-Users:  IT does not currently charge for use of this license in supported labs and classrooms.
