General Description: AutoCAD is a computer-aided design and drafting program.

Method for Obtaining: This software requires a license which can be obtained for free by students and faculty at Autodesk.

  • For personal computers:
    • Visit the Autodesk website.
    • Sign in or create an Autodesk account using your @mines.edu email address
    • When prompted:
      • Enter the educational institution address: 1500 Illinois Street, Golden, CO 80401.
      • Use https://www.mines.edu as the website.
      • Provide your expected graduation date.
  • For Mines-owned computers: submit a IT Service Desk request for installation.

Software support can be found in the support section of the Autodesk website.

In case of difficulties running the software in a Mines IT managed lab:  Contact IT via the IT Service Desk. If you have questions about the use of the program, please contact your instructor, TA or lab manager.
