General Description: AutoCAD is a computer-aided design and drafting program.

Availability: For classroom/lab availability see Campus Computing Labs.

Method for Obtaining: This software requires a license which can be obtained for free by students and faculty at Autodesk.

• For personal computers:
  • Visit the Autodesk website.
  • Sign in or create an Autodesk account using your @mines.edu email address
  • When prompted:
    • Enter the educational institution address: 1500 Illinois Street, Golden, CO 80401.
    • Use https://www.mines.edu as the website.
    • Provide your expected graduation date.
• For Mines-owned computers: submit a IT Service Desk request for installation.

Software support can be found in the support section of the Autodesk website.

In case of difficulties running the software in a Mines IT managed lab:  Contact IT via the IT Service Desk. We want the program to be properly installed, licensed and functioning. If you have questions about the use of the program, please contact your instructor, TA or lab manager.
