Moving Files from Network Drive to Dropbox

Note: As we transition from our network drives to a cloud-based application, the below will help with this transition if using Dropbox.

1. Navigate to Windows Explorer and find the drive mapped to your home drive. The drive letter will more than likely be Z:. If the drive is not mapped, please follow step 2-3. If it is, please proceed to step 4.

2. Navigate to file explorer. Click on “This PC” -->click the ellipses -->Select Map network drive.

3. The drive letter can be whatever is pre-populated. The folder will be the home drive location. \\home.mines.edu\home\username. Please replace username in the file path with your username.

4. At this point, bring up two windows. One window with your Home drive and the other with your DropBox. You can start selecting files and folders and either copying or dragging and dropping the items into the Dropbox  folder.
