How to Use BlasterPrint

2.0 Purpose 

The purpose of this knowledge base article is to document the steps required for students to print using BlasterPrint from either an IT-managed computer or a personal/non-IT managed device. This article includes instructions for submitting print jobs and releasing them at campus BlasterPrint stations.


 

3.0 Instructions

3.1 Printing from IT-Managed Computers

Use this method if you're printing from a Mines classroom lab or any IT-managed workstation.

  1. Log into the computer using your Mines email and password. 
  2. Open your document and select Print.
  3. Choose a BlasterPrint printer from the printer list.
  4. Confirm and send the print job.

     

3.2 Printing from Personal or Non-IT Managed Computers

Use this method if you're printing from your own laptop or any device not managed by Mines IT.

  1. Connect to the Mines campus network via wired connection, Mines Wi-Fi, eduroam, or VPN. (here's how to connect to VPN/GlobalProtect).
  2. Go to https://blasterprint.mines.edu/ 
  3. Log in using your Mines email and password.
  4. Select Web Print from the left-hand menu.

  5. Click the green Submit a Job button.
  6. Choose the printer you'd like to send a job to.
  7. Click the green Upload Documents button and select your file.
  8. Click Upload and Complete.

     

3.3 Releasing Your Print Job

To release a print job from on an IT-managed or non-IT managed computer:

  1. Visit any BlasterPrint station across campus.
  2. You can release your print job in one of two ways:
    1. Badge in using your BlasterCard.
    2. Log in manually using the keyboard at the station with your Mines email and password. 
  3. Select the document you submitted and release the print job.


 

3.4 Adding Funds to Your BlasterPrint Account

  1. Log into BlasterPrint and select Add Credit.

  2. Choose the amount you want to add and click Add Value.


     
  3. Follow the CASHNet prompts to complete the transaction.
  4. Click Sign Out once finished.
  5. Your updated balance will appear in your account and in the Transaction History section.


 

4.0 Definitions 

  • BlasterCard: The official Mines ID card used for identification and access to campus services.
  • BlasterPrint: The campus-wide printing service available to students and employees.
  • CASHNet: The secure payment system used to add funds to BlasterPrint accounts.
  • VPN (Virtual Private Network): A secure connection that allows access to campus resources from off-campus locations.
  • Web Print: A feature of BlasterPrint that allows users to upload and submit print jobs via a web browser.
