Accessing the AWS CLI CloudShell

If you need to use the AWS CLI we recommend using CloudShell, which you can access from within the AWS console.

  1. After you sign into the AWS console search for the CloudShell service.
  2. The initial welcome screen will appear if you have not checked Do not show again. More information about CloudShell can be found at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cloudshell/latest/userguide/welcome.html.

  3. Alternatively you can click on the CloudShell icon  to the right of the search box from anywhere within the AWS console.

If CloudShell does not meet your requirements and you need to run AWS CLI from a local system please submit a request through the help center at Cloud Request - AWS Accounts. Choose the General AWS Support option and let us know that you need assistance accessing the AWS CLI locally.
