General Description: Golden Software describes MapViewer as an “affordable mapping and spatial analysis tool that allows you to produce publication-quality thematic maps easily. Display your data distribution easily and precisely with more easy-to-use features than ever.

Availability: This product is installed in all ITS-managed Windows labs.

Scope of License:  Campus-wide educational site license that can be installed on any Mines-owned machine that is on campus.   MapViewer is also available to faculty and staff (but not students) for installation on personally owned or leased machines, laptops and desktops, whether at home or on-campus.  Separate licensing for other uses, including student home use and systems not used primarily in support of Mines’ academic mission, like a system used for a consulting business (even if on campus), must be purchased directly from Golden Software.  Members of the Mines community may get a discount; please contact Golden Software for further information.

Licensing Mechanism:  Serial Number.

Method for Obtaining: If you need MapViewer installed on a School of Mines-owned machine, submit a request to the Mines Help Center.

Cost to Qualified Mines End-Users:  ITS does not currently charge for use of this license in supported labs and classrooms.
