Podium PC Troubleshooting Guide (Step-by-step)


This article is for troubleshooting a Podium PC in regards to: Audio and visual issues. Please attempt the trouble shooting for your specific issue before you submit a Ticket to receive additional, in-class assistance.


Audio Issues

This Section will cover LLC audio issues regarding the speaker and microphone.


Speaker Issue

  • If the Audio is "Boosting" or is very loud past a reasonable level and cannot be lowered submit a support ticket (Tier 2).

If there is no Audio try the steps below:

For Zoom:

  1. In Zoom: Access the “Test Speaker & Microphone” from the Up Carat in the bottom bar. 

 

  1. The name of the speakers is typically different for every room. Always test for the audio using Zoom’s test speaker option.

In General:

  1. Ensure the volume is all the way up on the touch pad as well as on the computer. 
    Podium Volume:

  2. If there is still no audio despite both volume settings being all the way up, toggle the mute button on the touch pad.
    Touch pad mute button:

    NOTE: The mute button should like the image above after toggling. This means the system IS NOT muted.

 

Microphone Issue

  • If the microphone is "Boosting" or is very loud past a reasonable level and cannot be lowered submit a support ticket (Tier 2).

If the microphone is not picking up audio try the steps below:

For Zoom:

  1. In Zoom: Access the “Test Speaker & Microphone” from the Up Carat in the bottom bar. 
     

  2. The microphone should always be the one named “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Live Lecture Capture).” 

  3. If the correct microphone is selected, but still not picking up audio, the microphones may be muted. Look to the microphones in the room (typically hanging from the ceiling). If there is a red light on the bottom of the speakers, they are muted. Use the LLC remote to unmute the speakers by pointing the remote at the camera in the room and click the “Unmute button.”
     

Visual Issues

This Section will cover LLC Visual issues regarding the Cameras and Projectors


Camera Issue

  • If the Camera is facing away from the front of the room and there is no light on it, submit a support ticket (Tier 1).
  • If your request is regarding the camera presets, submit a support ticket (Tier 2).
  • If the Camera is facing away from the front of the room and there is a light on, turn on the system using the LLC remote.
    • If this does not turn on the system try again but closer to the camera.
      • If this still does not resolve the issue, submit a ticket(Tier 2).
  • When using the camera for Zoom
    • Make sure the device is selected (Something like LLC or Vadio)
      • If this is set, the camera is on, and there is still no video, submit a ticket(Tier 2).

Any other camera issue not previously addressed, submit a ticket(Tier 2).


Projector Issue

  • Projectors are controlled in one of two ways in each room, via the touch panel(if present) or a button panel at the front of the room near the board.
  • If the projectors are on and not displaying the podium PC hit the Windows Key + P at the same time and select "Duplicate"
  • Any other projector issue that is not addressed, submit a support ticket (Tier 2).

If none of these resolve your issue or your issue is not listed, please submit a support ticket and try to be as specific as possible the ticket can be submitted here.
