OrePrint during PrintNightmare Vulnerability

What is OrePrint?

OrePrint is our campus wide printing service. It's easy and simple to use! First, have a file to print and then submit it to the OrePrint queue by following the instructions in the "How do I use OrePrint" section below, then find a release station (located in most building across campus) to initiate the printing.

Please note, OrePrint is a "follow me" print service. All of our OrePrint queues will hold your print job until released at one of the locations listed below. To get started follow the instructions below to submit a job to the queue, then locate the nearest release station. When at the release station you will either need to enter your MultiPass credentials or scan your BlasterCard to login, then select the submitted job to release to the printer.

How do I use OrePrint?

You can use OrePrint by:

Screenshot of OrePrint web interface

  • Next you will be prompted to select which Queue to send your document to, each queue has different print properties.
    • For standard Black & White/monochrome prints, select "OrePrint" (for two-sided, "OrePrint (Two-Sided))
    • For color prints, select "OrePrintColor" (for two-sided, "OrePrintColor (Two-Sided)"
    • There may be other printers listed, please note you should only use those queues if you are already familiar with which printer is listed.

  • Proceed to the next screen, Print Options and Account Selection, then choose your preferences such as "Number of Copies" (other options may be available depending on your account restrictions)
  • Upload your document (please note the file restrictions listed on the page, we recommend either PDF, Word doc, docx)
  • Click "Upload & Complete", you will then be directed back to the "Web Print" screen and should see your job in the queue.
  • When the job is ready to be released, the status will show as "Held in a queue" for standard OrePrint Queues (for special printers/departmental printers, the job may release to the printer immediately)
