Changing Email & Mobile Notifications in Workday

Log into Workday

Visit my.mines.edu and log in with your Mines username and password.

Navigate to the Workday tile and click on it to access Workday.

Alternatively, you can search for “Workday” in the search field at the top of the page.

If you are already logged in to my.mines.edu, you can also access Workday by opening a new browser tab and entering the URL, workday.mines.edu.

Navigating to Notification Settings

Click on your Profile Picture in the upper right-hand corner of Workday.

Next, click on My Account.

 

Afterwards, click on Change Preferences.

Background Notification Preferences

On the Change Preferences page, scroll down to the Background Notification Preferences section.

You will have the option to enable or disable the following background notification preferences:

  • Display a message when a background report completes
  • Display a message when a shared background report completes.

Notifications Preferences

Email

On the Change Preferences page, scroll down to the Channel section.

Within the Email Preferences section, you will see a long list of various Notifications Types for Business Processes and the Frequency in which you receive these notifications.

There are three Frequency options you can choose from within each business process type:

  • Immediately - Email notifications will be sent immediately when this task arrives in your Workday inbox.  Leave this option turned on for vital business processes that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
  • Daily - Email notifications will be sent once per day after this task arrives in your Workday inbox.  Choose this option for less urgent business process types.
  • Mute - Email notifications will not be sent when this task arrives in your Workday inbox.  Choose this option only for non-urgent tasks and only if you are checking your Workday inbox regularly.

Spend some time going through each Business Process and selecting the Notification Frequency that works best for your role.

 

Mobile Push Notifications

If you use the Workday mobile application on your smart phone, you can configure your mobile notifications.

On the Change Preferences page, scroll down to the Channel section.

Within the Mobile Push Notifications section, you will see a long list of various Notifications Types for Business Processes and the Frequency in which you receive these notifications.

There are three Frequency options you can choose from within each business process type:

  • Immediately - Mobile push notifications will be sent immediately when this task arrives in your Workday inbox.  Leave this option turned on for vital business processes that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
  • Daily - Mobile push notifications will be sent once per day when this task arrives in your Workday inbox.  Choose this option for less urgent business process types.
  • Mute - Mobile push notifications will not be sent when this task arrives in your Workday inbox.  Choose this option only for non-urgent tasks and only if you are checking your Workday inbox regularly.

Spend some time going through each Business Process and selecting the Mobile Push Notification Frequency that works best for your role.

Confirming Notification Settings

Once you have changed your email and mobile push notification setting to fit your preferences, click OK at the bottom of the page.  To cancel these changes, click Cancel instead.
