Overview
The "Mines-Personal" network is intended for use in residence halls for gaming and streaming devices that don't have a web-browser and require a pre-shared key to connect to a wireless network.
Example devices:
- Xbox
- Smart TV
- Amazon Alexa
Additionally, you may connect other personal devices such as laptops or desktops to "Mines-Personal" with your private pre-shared key (PPSK) to create a "personal-bubble" where those devices can talk directly to each other on the network for casting, gaming, etc.
Who receives a private pre-shared key for "Mines-Personal" network?
Each resident in campus housing receives a unique private pre-shared key. The key is valid for the duration of your housing contract.
How do I receive my PPSK for the "Mines-Personal" network for streaming devices?
During move-in, keep an eye out for the mail from "Extreme Networks <no-reply@extremecloudiq.com>" titled [EXTERNAL] Login Credentials. That email has your pre-shared access key (PPSK) to your "Mines-Personal" network space:

With your access key, you can join your devices to Mines-Personal -- it will prompt you for just the access key (or "password"), you will *NOT* need to enter your campus email address as it will not prompt you for a username.
How Do I Connect My Academic Computer or Cell Phone For Everyday Internet Use?
For regular internet access on your phone or personal computer in your dorm or on campus, you'll either connect to the "Mines" wired or wireless connection, or "Eduroam" wireless network, just like you do on campus. Please see our support article: how to Connect to the "Mines" Network.
