Mines adopted the new Rich Content Editor (RCE) in Canvas on December 22, 2020.

Why did the RCE change?
Canvas has been developing a new RCE over the past year and are be depreciating the existing RCE in January of 2021. To minimize potential disruption or changes during the semester, Mines has decided to adopt the new RCE after fall 2020 semester but before spring 2021 semester.
Who does this change impact?
All Canvas users including instructors, teaching assistants and students will use the new RCE. Instructors and TAs will utilize the new RCE as the create assignments, edit pages, etc. Students will use the new RCE as they submit assigments or quizzes or submit to discussion boards.
The new RCE is enabled in all Canvas courses—including sandbox courses.
The new RCE includes all of the existing features and functions you are familiar using in the existing RCE, but the location and iconography for features may have changed. Please review the a feature comparison document for more information.
