Microsoft 365 OneDrive File Versioning

Summary

This article helps you restore backups for files via Microsoft versioning. When you have made a mistake on a file or folder, you can restore back to a previous date or make a copy of the file/folder.

Note: When working within Microsoft 365, there are typically file versions/backups you can restore from. If you needed to revert a copy of the file, you could restore versions/backups which will go into detail below.

1. Navigate to https://my.mines.edu  and search for Microsoft OneDrive. Click to open

2. Navigate to a file or folder you would like to see version history on. Click the ellipses and select “version history"

3. Here you will see all the versions that are available. You click the ellipses to open the options for the version you want to review. You can open the file and save a copy of the version if you do not want to overwrite or restore the version to make the copy moving forward. This can be done with folders and files
