Licensing: Microsoft Office 365, and other Microsoft standard software are now available free under school-wide site licenses. No purchase is necessary.
Obtaining:
- Online Apps: Visit https://m365.cloud.microsoft/ and go to Apps in the tab on the left-hand side of the screen to see and access Microsoft tools available online.
- Download Office Suite:
- Go to https://portal.office.com/account/?ref=Harmony, log in using your @mines.edu email and password, and click Install Office.
- You can also download Microsoft apps from the Google Play store and Apple App Store--just make sure to log into them using your @mines.edu email and password.
- Other Microsoft Software (e.g., Windows OS): visit our Azure Dev Tools knowledge base article for details on downloading Microsoft operating systems and other software other than Office.
If you’d like to purchase higher tiers of licenses for Microsoft Software for a Mines-owned computer, please contact the IT Service Desk.
Frequency of Updates: Microsoft updates their software routinely as security issues are discovered. Make sure to set your Windows Operating System to automatically obtain Microsoft Updates.
