2.0 Purpose 

The purpose of this article is to provide instructions on how to share files and folders from Microsoft Teams/SharePoint with individuals outside of that particular team. This process uses the built-in sharing options in Microsoft Teams and OneDrive and applies to both Windows and Mac users via a web browser.

 

3.0 Instructions

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to the team that contains the files or folders you want to share outside your Team.

  2. In the team’s Files tab, find the file or folder you want to share. Click the Share button​​​​ next to the file or folder you want to share.
     

  3. In the Share window, click the gear icon  in the top-right corner.
     

  4. Under the sharing settings, select "People in Colorado School of Mines" and click Apply
     

  5. Now you can copy and share the link via email or send directly to a distribution list.

  6. If you'd like to add a shortcut to the file or folder in your personal OneDrive for quick access.
