ITS is looking for students seeking employment!
Join Information & Technology Solutions (ITS) by working in the Mines Service Center (MSC), located in the Center for Technology & Learning Media (CTLM) building. General responsibilities focus around assisting ITS customers in the CTLM Computer Commons, as well as throughout campus in labs and classrooms. Daily tasks typically involve supporting in-person IT help desk inquiries, managing print and plotting jobs, and performing phone support as part of a technical team. As experience allows, consultants may assist customers with software configuration and installation issues, networking issues, and other technical problems related to their academic work. There may also be limited opportunities to with the Network and/or Desktop Support teams. The prospective student will help full-time IT staff manage and maintain campus computers running Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems. In addition, consultants will help manage and maintain campus kiosks and assist with checking out equipment for loan.
Technical background and skills help but are not a prerequisite. Customer service skills and a desire to learn and help others are key attributes to have for this role. Other duties include moving and cleaning equipment, delivering printer supplies, audiovisual (A/V) troubleshooting, as well as other miscellaneous duties as assigned. MSC consultants work in an excellent learning environment with hands-on training. The ideal candidate must possess a positive attitude, be willing to work in a team environment, adhere to regular set work schedules, and must abide by all campus and departmental rules regarding student employment. The primary work location is expected to be on-campus, but remote options may be available under certain circumstances.
