How to Un-Enroll from the old JAMF instance
Summary: the instructions below show how to un-enroll your device from JAMF. NOTE: The process takes approximately five minutes to complete, no more than 10 minutes.
1. Open the terminal. You can do this by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right corner of your menu bar or hit command-spacebar to bring up Spotlight. Then type in the word "terminal" to locate the application and click on it to open.
2. You will need to login to the terminal application using an account that has administrative rights on your Mac computer. Once terminal is open, type "su adminusername". You will be prompted to enter the account password. Type your password and hit enter. (NOTE: you will not see the characters as you type).
3. Copy and paste this command in to the terminal: "sudo jamf removeFramework" and hit Enter.
4. You will be prompted for the password again. Type in your password and hit Enter.
5. Proccesses will run in terminal. Wait for the process to complete, this may take a few minutes. Proceed to How to Enroll in the new JAMF cloud instance.
NOTE: In some cases after the above process is complete you may see a "System Extension Blocked" prompt as below. You may click "OK" and ignore this prompt as the extension will be approved automatically when you enroll in the new JAMF instance.
6. You have successfully removed your device from the old JAMF instance.
How to Enroll in the new JAMF cloud instance
1. Open Safari and navigate to https://mines.jamfcloud.com/enroll. (NOTE: SAFARI MUST BE USED FOR THE ENROLLMENT TO WORK PROPERLY. NO CHROME OR FIREFOX)
2. Login using your Mines email
5. Click Continue to download the CA certificate
6. Open System Preferences and go to Profiles
7. Click Install
8. Click Install again
9. Now return to the browser and click continue again to download the mdm profile
10. Return to system preferences and click on MDM Profile
11. Click install
12. Click install again
13. Type in your admin credentials and click enroll
14. If successful system preferences should look something like this
15. You should now also have a Mines Self Service application in your applications. This is a new feature we are working to utilize more. Here you will find helpful references to common resources like how to map a printer or network drive on a map as well as a link to our helpcenter where you can view more resources or submit a ticket. Mines Self Service will also contain access to common apps available to download. We are in the process of adding more apps.
