1. Use your preferred web browser to go to mines.zoom.us and click on the Sign in button.

2. You are redirected to Mines' authentication page.  Enter your credentials and then click on the Login button.

3.  You are presented with the two factor authentication options (DUO).

Choose whichever fits your preferences and click on the appropriate button.

4.  Once authentication completes, you are presented with your Zoom account profile page.  Click on the Resources link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.  Then select Download Zoom Client from the pop-up menu.

5.  The newest version of Ubuntu listed in the Linux Type drop-down list is 16.04.  Installation has successfully been tested with 18.04 and 20.04.

Select the 64 bit option unless you know your version of Ubuntu Linux is 32 bit.

Click on the Download button.

6. After the download is completed, if your web browser does not prompt you to run the downloaded installer, use your File Manager to navigate to your Downloads folder.

Double-click on the installer to load it in the Ubuntu Software Center.

7.  Click on the Install button.

8.  Enter the password for your administrator account. Then click on the Authenticate button.

Install progress is displayed.

9. When the install completes, you are presented with the Zoom sign-in screen.

Click the Sign In button.

10.  Select the Sign in with SSO option.

You must use the SSO option in order to participate in Mines sponsored meetings.

11.  Enter mines into the Company Domain input field then click the Continue button.

12. You are redirected to the Mines authentication page.

Enter your credentials then click on the Login button.

13.  You are presented with the Mines' multi-factor authentication page.

Choose whichever fits your preferences and click on the appropriate button.

14. Your default web browser will prompt you to always open the Zoom application instead of connecting to Zoom via the web browser.

The preferred method is to always allow mines.zoom.us to open links in the Zoom application.

Select Zoom from the Send to: list and then click the Open link button.

15. The Zoom client now opens and you are ready to start a new meeting, Join an existing meeting, schedule a future meeting, or share your screen with another Zoom user.

Zoom meeting links inside your email client or within a web browser will now always open the Zoom desktop client.
